Welcome to USCARBINECAL30M1.com! If you are like me, owning an M1 Carbine goes a lot
deeper than just owning a firearm. It is about owning and collecting a piece of
history. Because of that, a small group of dedicated collectors have built this site.
We have compiled all the data on components and Carbines from various sources
into a relational database. We have tried to make the data available as accurate as
possible. Given the absence of complete records of manufacture and sheer number of
sources of data available, I guarantee you that We have made some mistakes.
Please
inform us of any information that you think is incorrect or missing and we will do our
best to confirm and correct or add the information. On this site, you will be able to do
the following:
- Find your M1 Carbine’s date of manufacture
- Find listing of components based on manufacturer, component group or
individual component
- Generate a build list of your M1 Carbine by entering manufacturer and serial
number
- Find general knowledge related to care, maintenance and inspection of your
M1 Carbine
- Export data to spreadsheets or CSV’s for your reference
- Submit your M1 Carbine to the Master List
- List an M1 Carbine you are searching for
The M1 Carbine is something that will consume you in the collecting of military surplus
weapons and ignites a passion in collecting and restoring them. No collection is
complete without an M1 Carbine. There are many ways to acquire an M1 Carbine, but the
undisputed home of the M1 Carbine is the CMP or The Civilian Marksmanship Program.
The CMP is a federally chartered 501C/3 corporation that "places its highest priority
on serving youth through gun safety and marksmanship activities that encourage
personal growth and build life skills." The CMP Forums are a great place to ask
questions and discover people like yourself that are passionate about the carbine.
Over the past 65 years, most M1 Carbines have been arsenal rebuilt, refinished,
re-barreled or repaired at least once and often several times. Most will show
signs of service (often considerable) and replacement of various parts. They are
seldom encountered with all original parts and original finish as delivered from the
manufacturer. Such "original" Carbines, even in well-used condition, are highly prized
by collectors.
The purposes of USCARBINECAL30M1.com is to exchange information and expand your
knowledge of the U.S. Carbine, Caliber .30, M1, better known as the M1 Carbine.
This site’s main goals, like those of the GCA, CMP and many others, are to preserve
and publicize the history of the M1 Carbine, encourage
new collectors, assist individuals in their collecting and to encourage competitive
and recreational safe shooting of the Carbine. The information contained in this
website has been compiled from many sources. If you find any erroneous information,
or information that should be removed because of copyright, please contact me.
